High quality Applehead Chihuahuas by Chihuahua Dreams today? All of our adult chihuahuas are in the 3.5-5 pound range and so our puppies are genetically very small as well. Some people refer to these teeny tiny chihuahuas as “teacup chihuahuas”, however this is just a term used to describe an ultra tiny chihuahua. Not only are our chihuahua puppies ultra tiny, they have exceptional conformation in accordance with the chihuahua breed standard and wonderful, sweet temperaments. I have spent my entire life caring for animals, but mainly chihuahuas. Find extra info on Chihuahua Dreams.

Each breeding is carefully planned with the right sire and the right dam that we feel will produce the best quality puppies (both temperament and looks). I raise my chihuahuas indoors and they are potty pad trained. My chihuahuas are held and loved on a daily basis. When you see and hold one for yourself you will see they are very comfortable with humans. They do not nip or bark, they are not yappy, and they certainly do not bite. My chihuahuas wag their tail and wait to be picked up.

While everyone is staying indoors during the coronavirus pandemic to flatten the curve, our pets are also being forced to do the same. Self-isolating can be as difficult and stressful for pets as it is for their owners. The change in their routine—no more daily walks and visits from regular guests—can contribute to stress and boredom. So, here are some tips for pet care during the lockdown.

Ears come in all kinds, because they can naturally take different shapes and sizes, especially if humans do not touch them. You can therefore observe short or long ears, straight or drooping ears, flexible or rather stiff. The amazing thing is that they are all mobile! Yes they move even when you don’t realize it. Its ears are therefore equipped with a minimum of 18 muscles per ear which allows it to control and move them in a more or less nuanced way. But the exact number of muscles will depend on the breed of your dog as some have around 100 muscles per ear. Which is why your dog can hear much better than you! Dogs with erect ears can hear better because their cone-shaped ears help focus sound waves. In all cases, dogs move their ears to facilitate hearing. Have you ever seen your dog “prick up” its ears when it heard a sudden sound? Have you ever seen your dog’s ears move like a periscope following the direction of sound without needing to move its head?

Another thing to remember is that dogs need to socialization to be able to do better in training. Give him ample opportunities to meet people and other pets, with some precautions. Keep him in a strong leash when you take him out to dog parks. You may also enroll him in puppy classes if you can afford it. At six months of age, you may consider if you want to spay or neuter your pet. Consult your vet to know more about the procedure. Being a dog parent is not much different from parenting an actual child. It can get a little overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time, but as long as you remember these dog care tips, your puppy is sure to grow into a healthy and well-behaved pooch. Do you have additional new puppy care tips to recommend? We’d love to hear them in the comments.

I feel my puppies deserve to be met in person by a chihuahua lover who takes the time out to come and meet them, but I do understand that this is not always possible. I am very strict however with who I let into our home and the age of the puppies at the time, to ensure that they’ve had two sets of vaccinations prior. This is for the safety of my dogs and I don’t compromise it. I take the time to talk/email and build a relationship with potential puppy buyers before allowing visting hours or adoptions, so please be prepared to tell me a bit about yourself! A chihuahua is the best friend you will ever have. I can’t wait for you to meet our beautiful babies. Thanks for visiting our website. Find even more information on California chihuahuas.
